Super Mario Brothers featuring Luigi

In other words, my opus magnum...well, to date, anyway. Okay, that's a stretch! But I put lots of time and effort into this cake, and had such a blast doing it! The cake was frosted with buttercream and decorated with fondant and gumpaste. It's all edible, with the exception of the dowels and toothpicks holding Luigi up. I have to add, I loved that this boy wanted Luigi--his mom said that's who he always ends up with after his brother got first player. :) Don't you love the rabbit ears behind Luigi? Thanks bud!

Girls' Night

Okay, so I cheated and bought the cake (I was short on time!), but I did carve the purse out of pound cake and do all the fondant work.

Thanks for fixing my finger!

When my husband cut through his finger and refused to go to the ER, I called our PA friend to see if he would take a look. My husband required stitches and our kind friend went above and beyond by stitching him up right there on his kitchen table! This was my thank you to him, kind of gross...but fun and tasty!

$50

Eagle cake

When my nephew requested an eagle cake I was stumped! My carving and modeling skills are still rough, so I found an image and made it out of fondant, texturizing where I could. The cake is frosted and colored for a patriotic theme.
